Please note that the Consular Section of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Berlin is not responsible for visas for Sri Lankan citizens wishing to enter Germany and cannot provide any assistance in such cases. For these purposes, the persons concerned should contact the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Colombo.
German tourists wishing to travel to Sri Lanka who were unable to obtain their 30-day visa through the https://eta.gov.lk/ website can obtain their Sri Lanka visa upon arrival at the airport for a fee of USD 60.

Tourist & Business Visa
1. Please be informed that with effect from 26.09.2024 the ETA online visa application system was reinstated. All the Travellers from Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, North Macedonia and Montenegro can apply for 30 days Tourist or Business Visa online via https://eta.gov.lk/
2. Travellers can also applied for 30 Days & 90 days Tourist or Business Visa from the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin.
3. On arrival visa is also available for the travellers form the above countries. Note: On Arrival visa are not applicable for nationals of Afghanistan, Syria, Ghana, Nigeria, Pakistan, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, North Korea & Myanmar, who are required to apply for visa through the Head of Office of the Department of Immigration andEmigration of Sri Lanka in Colombo through a representative/sponsor in Sri Lanka.
4. Visitors who already possess a valid Sri Lankan passport or valid residence permit in Sri Lanka do not need a visa to enter Sri Lanka. Visitors travelling Sri Lanka other than for tourist or business purposes (i.e. diplomatic, journalist, etc.) must obtain visa prior to travel to Sri Lanka from the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin or the Department of Immigration and Emigration in Colombo, irrespective of the duration of stay.
If you apply Tourist or Business Visa from the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin, the following documents are required:
1. Passport (Original)
2. ETA-Application Form
3. Flight reservation
4. Visa fees or Visa fee transfer receipt
5. Travel plan in Sri Lanka or hotel booking confirmation (Accommodation for the first day in Sri Lanka would be sufficient)
6. Self addressed and stamped envelope in order to return the passport to the applicant
