The Sri Lanka Embassy in Berlin celebrates Deepavali on 29th October 2016
The Sri Lankan community in Berlin celebrated Deepavali, also known as the ‘Festival of Lights’ organized by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Berlin on Saturday, 29th October 2016 at Sri Ganesha Temple in Hasenheide, Berlin.

Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Germany, Karunatilaka Amunugama on behalf of Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka,handed over the letter of Commission to Mr. Claus Holtmann as the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka with the jurisdiction of Southern part of Lower Saxony(South of the administrative districts of Diepholz, Verden, Rotenburg (Wumme) and Harburg), based in Hannover on Wednesday, 13th of July 2016at the Sri Lanka Embassy in Berlin.
With the intention of reaching out to the German Buddhist community, the Embassy of Sri Lanka organized a ‘Vesak day’ programme on Friday 27th May 2016 at the Embassy premises, giving emphasis to the teachings of the Lord Buddha.
Mönchengladbach, 11 May. The Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Karunatilaka Amunugama has now visited the Department of Textile and Clothing Technology at the University of Applied Sciences of Niederrhein. The two-hour meeting in Mönchengladbach focused on opportunities for cooperation between the biggest European department of textile and clothing technology and the island nation 200 km to the east of the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent.
The Embassy of Sri Lanka together with the Sri Lankan Associations based in Berlin organized the Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival on Saturday 16th April 2016 at the Embassy premises. A large gathering of Sri Lankans and Germans participated at this auspicious occasion.
