The performance of the Bishops college hewisi band and music from the De Lanerolle brothers was the finale of an event organised by the DAW German-Asian Business Circle on the 25th February 2013, in partnership with the Sri Lanka consulate in Frankfurt to bring together the business communities in Germany and Sri Lanka in a full day economic forum. The event included an investment forum, Sri Lanka specific workshop and business to business matchmaking for Sri Lanka companies and an evening reception.


Progress of plans at Frankfurt Sri Lanka Consulate General

Natlday01 CGaBringing the community together as one nation has been one of the central issues taken up by Consul General Mr. Pradip Jayewardene in Frankfurt, Germany. Several initiatives were taken and activities launched to make this happen. During his speech at the national day celebrations earlier, the Consul General summarized the progress towards achieving his goals for the Mission during the last year and plans for this year in community relations as well as improvements in the core services provided by the Mission and progress in trade-commerce area.

Enjoy a Sri Lankan Musical Concert in Frankfurt!

Mr. Pradip Jayewardene, The Consul General of Sri Lanka and Mrs. Shaan Jayewardene are hosting a Sri Lankan Musical Concert to celebrate 60 years of diplomatic ties between Germany and Sri Lanka.

hewisiband photo1The concert will be held on Tuesday, 26th February 2013 at 19:00 hrs. The Hewisi Band of Bishop's College will perform with the world renowned singing duo, De Lanerolle Brothers at this concert, giving a rare glimpse at the traditional Sri Lankan music. The concert is organized in collaboration with the Tourist Board of Sri Lanka – Western Province, Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Frankfurt, Sri Lankan Airlines and Sri Lankan well wishers domiciled in Germany.
