H.E. Sarrath Kongahage, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Federal Republic of Germany, presented to His Excellency Christian Wulff, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Letter of Credence at the Bellevue Palace, the Official Residence of the Federal President on 2 nd September 2011.
H E the Ambassador and his delegation were accompanied to the official residence of the Federal President by officials from the German Federal Foreign Office, and the Ambassador was accorded with a ceremonial guard of honour by the German Bundeswehr on his arrival and departure at the Bellevue Palace.
After the presentation of the Letter of Credence, H.E. the Ambassador paid a courtesy call on the Federal President and discussed on issues mutually interesting to the both countries. The Ambassador also presented greetings of H.E. the President Mahinda Rajapaksa to H.E. the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials from the Office of the Federal President and the Federal Foreign Office.
