mahinda-rajapakse 143 200Eine jüngste Studie des bekannten amerikanischen Meinungsforschungsinstitutes Gallop Poll in Bezug aud die Beliebtheit des Staatsoberhaupts im jeweiligen Land hat Präsident Mahinda Rajapaksa den dritten Rang unter 21 Staatschefs erreicht. Wie aus dem Bericht hervorgeht, begrüßen 91% der Sri Lanker die Arbeitsleistung des Präsidenten. Den ersten und zweiten Platz belegen Präsident Choummali Signason von Laos und Premierminister Hun Sen aus Cambodia. Sie erhielten 97% und 93% von ihren Wählern.

Wie aus der Umfrage hervorgeht, erreicht der indische Premierminister eine Zustimmung von 51% und erreicht damit nur den 11. Platz. Premierministerin Julia Gillard erreicht nur eine Zustimmung von 45% und liegt damit auf dem 14. Platz. Der neuseeländische Premierminister John Key erreicht eine Zustimmung von 72% und liegt damit auf dem 9. Platz. Premierminister Yoshihiko Noda von Japan erreichte 41% Zustimmung und liegt auf dem 15. Platz. Präsident Asif Ali Zardari erreicht mit nur 21% die niedrigste Popularität in allen 21 Staaten. Naturgemäß erreicht er damit die letzte Position.
